Welcome

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us better. Our hope in starting this blog, is for you to gain a better idea of who we are and why we want to adopt. Adoption is such a blessing, and we are grateful for the opportunities that will come to us through this process. Adoption has given us hope that we can start our eternal family. Path to Adoption

Since the beginning of our relationship, we have talked about our future family. We both want children, Nick once said he wanted 8! We started trying to conceive over 4 years ago, since that time we have come across many bumps. We have had the support of many friends and family members, through our struggles with infertility. We have decided at this time in our lives, Heavenly Father wishes for children to come into our home and life through adoption. We continue to feel the support of our friends and family members, and they couldn't be happier about our decision. We feel blessed to be a part of adoption and feel that it is an amazing miracle. We are thankful for birthparents who are willing to place their child with adoptive couples. We recognize the courage that it takes for birthparents and families; and we are thankful for your strength. We know that adopted children are blessed to have two families that love them. If you would like, we are willing to have an open adoption. So that you as the birthparent, can feel at peace and have a reassurance of the decision you have made.

About Nick

I was raised in a small farming community in southern Utah. My parents own a farm that I began working on when I was about 10. I spent most of my summers working on the farm and enjoyed learning how to operate the farming equipment at a young age. I was also involved in 4-H throughout high school, and enjoyed the 4-H programs and activities. A highlight of my high school years was becoming a State 4-H Ambassador. This gave me opportunities to travel throughout the state to teach workshops, compete in different events, and meet new people. I am the third of four children. My older sister is married, and has four children. My older brother is also married and has four children. My little sister recently got married. Paige and I enjoy spending time with my family, especially our nieces and nephews. It has been fun watching them grow up and establish their very different personalities. After completing high school I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Ontario, Canada. I enjoyed my time as a missionary, and particularly liked getting to meet people of different backgrounds, and learn about other cultures and religions. This helped to develop my interest in traveling, to continue to learn about new people and places. After serving a mission I continued my education to obtain a career in the medical field. My mom was the only nurse in town, and people would often come to her with medical needs. I enjoyed watching her interact with patients and help people in their time of need; this sparked my interest in the medical field. I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Advanced Radiological Sciences, with an emphasis in CT and MRI scans in 2005. My parents love having the grandchildren come over. They have modified their yard so it is a fun place for the kids. The grandchildren would rather play at "grandpa's park", than the city park. Our family enjoys getting together to celebrate important events in each other's lives, and just hanging out together. My family also enjoys hunting together. As a child I remember looking forward to the deer hunt each year. Deer Hunting was about the only time we would spend a few days off work just riding through the hills and relaxing.

Our Story

We met in 2003 at the hospital, where we both worked. Paige worked in the Emergency Department, and Nick worked in Radiology. We became fast friends. We went on our first date on Halloween of 2003. Our relationship continued as friends, and we decided to date exclusively in March of 2004. We had a great time dating! Our love for traveling stems back to when we were dating. We had the opportunity to travel to Canada, on a Mexican Cruise, and various other locations during our courtship. In-fact, our friends and family members said we had way too many 'honeymoons' before our actual honeymoon! We dated for 13 months before we were engaged, and we were married in May of 2005.

About Paige

I was raised in Southern Utah, and I have lived here my entire life. I love the sunshine! I like being outside, when it's not too hot! There are so many beautiful places close to us, and I enjoy our central location. I am the oldest of four children. Growing up as the oldest brought lots of responsibilities. I know that being the oldest molded me into the organized, 'type-A' person that I am today. I enjoy being with my family! The brother just below me is 18 months younger than I am. He is married and lives in Northern Utah. My sister is 19 years old, and she is attending college here in Southern Utah. My youngest brother is almost 17, and he keeps us all going with his sense of humor. My Parents got divorced when I was 20. It was a difficult time, and I thought I'd never accept it. But as the years have gone on, I have recongnized the divorce as a blessing in my life. My Mom lives near us, and we see each other about once a week. She is such a strength to me, and I find her support unmovable. She is an outgoing person, and has the abilitiy to make everyone around her feel welcome and comfortable. My Dad lives in Northern Utah. We do not have a close relationship. We share very different views, and I have found through the years that his support was based on his needs. I have come to the conclusion that parents need to be supportive, no matter the circumstance. My family loves to laugh! My sibilings and I have a close bond, and it is rare that we are not laughing! We also enjoy camping, swimming at my Mom's, and playing games.

After graduating from High School, I immediately enrolled at Dixie State College. I obtained my Associates of Science and applied for Nursing School. After my completion of Nursing School in 2007, I attended Southern Utah University to obtain my Bachelors of Nursing Degree, which I completed in 2008. During my years at Dixie State College, I worked in the Emergency Room as a Technician. It was here that my love for medicine grew. I worked in the Emergency Room for almost 5 years. After completion of Nursing School, I transferred to work in orthopedics. I currently work with administration in patient safety.

Us Now

We have been married almost 5 years. It is hard to imagine where all the time has gone. In that time we have completed school, purchased our first home, and traveled many places. We both work for the local hospital, and we are able to provide for ourselves. We believe that our friendship, and courtship has played a strong role in helping us develop our marriage. We enjoy being together, spending time with our family and friends, and simply serving one and other. We love to vacation. We recently returned from our second trip to Europe. We were able to take Paige's brother on the vacation with us. It was by far one of the best experiences we have had! We enjoy learning about other cultures and seeing different places - traveling is our passion. We also found that we enjoy traveling with children. We took some of our nieces on two different vacations to Southern California, to see the beach and go to Disneyland. It was a neat experience to be able to spend time with our nieces - by ourselves - we had a great time making memories with them.

Thoughts about Paige

Paige is an amazing person with so many talents and abilities. She has this amazing ability to organize. She can see something that is in complete disarray and have it completely organized and functional in no time at all. Paige is very thoughtful and always wants to make others feel welcome, loved, and important. She can see someone in need, and strives to help whenever and however possible. Just recently she went out of town for a business trip, over night. When I came home from work that day there were love notes placed throughout the house from her. It was so fun to come home to these sweet notes from her. Paige has a fun loving, spontaneous personality. She loves to make people laugh, and she has a great sense of humor. Paige enjoys being with friends and family, and enjoys planning events and gatherings. Another example of Paige's care for others is on the day we came home from taking our nieces to Disneyland, she had scrapbooks made for each of the girls with all the pictures of our trip so the girls could take them home and show their family. Paige is very creative, she has decorated our home in a way that makes it feel warm and inviting to all who enter. She especially loves decorating for each holiday. She loves celebrating the holidays and coming up with new traditions for our family. I love having Paige in my life. I am grateful to have her as my eternal companion, and friend; she is a great blessing in my life.

Thoughts about Nick

Nick is the most genuine person that I have ever had the privilege of meeting. Being around Nick makes me want to be a better person. He is a happy individual, who has a deep love for life and enjoys having fun. Nick is a wonderful friend; and as a result, our lives have been blessed by countless friends. Nick was taught through hard work. He has a strong work ethic, and is the perfect example of a hard worker. He has the drive and motivation to provide a living for his family. Nick enjoys his profession, and has a compassion for those he comes in contact with. Nick is very helpful to me, he sees tasks in our home that need to be taken care of, and he jumps in without any prompting. Nick works very hard, each day, to show me the love he has for me. Nick has a love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His Testimony amazes me. He brings such a peace and spirit of love into our home. Nick continues to awe me through his capacity to love. Nick loves to serve others. Serving is how Nick shows his love and appreciation for those around him. When I had the opportunity to meet Nick's family for the first time, we were attending his niece’s baby blessing. Nick was able to perform the blessing; I knew at that moment, he would be a wonderful father. The interactions with Nick and his family, particularly with his nieces and nephews, have helped me develop a deeper love for him. I know that he will be an amazing Father. I am excited for the opportunity to share parenthood with him. I love him with all my heart. Nick completes me.
